Online Learning amid COVID-19 Pandemic: A Case Study of Vocabulary Learning Strategies

The outbreak of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has led countries to implement measures prevent its spread. One these included shutting down schools and universities. Consequently, the teaching, learning assessment processes were entirely shifted from face-to-face online. current study aimed investigate online vocabulary strategies (VLSs) amid COVID-19 pandemic used by Saudi EFL students. It attempted find out astudents use get meaning new vocabulary, they follow revise learned keep them as part their repertoire. sample was 119 male female English non-English majors. modified Kulikova’s (2015) questionnaire. This conducted at University Bisha, Arabia, during a fully period in September October 2020 time outbreak. data collected via self-administered questionnaire form. distributed teachers Department. found that majors more than also showed students do not ask about (77%), classmates (92%), nor friends (85%), which could be attributed due social distance coronavirus (COVID-19).
